Media Literacy on the Movie 300 Question 4

Did the Immortals really look like Japanese ninjas? If not, why did the directors want them to look like that?

    1. The immortals did not really look like japanese ninjas. They wore wicker shield, short spears, swords or large daggers, bow and arrow. Underneath their robes they wore scale mail coats.

    2. The director wanted to make them look invincible which can cause fear to people.He also made them look have armours so that they can look more realistic.

    Yes. The directors wanted the immortal to look like japanese warriors to create the impression of a fierce warrior. It is also to attract people to watch the movie as the costume is unique and rarely used in other movies. The character is also made to look like a japanese ninja so as to conceal the immortal's face and hide its identity from other warriors, and to keep the people in suspense on how the immortal actually looks like.
